At McKenney's, I work as a Virtual Construction Intern, where I am responsible for drafting assemblies and reviewing technical shop drawings for the final manufacturing process.
Spooling Mechanical Pipes in Autodesk Revit
As a Virtual Construction Intern at McKenney's, I am tasked with drafting assembly sheets and reports daily. I ensure that all packages sent to the shop are precise, accurate, and within easy to assemble (by following DFM and DFA principles).
So far, I have accurately spooled over 250+ models and successfully reduced rework from 30% to 20%
I also handled over 2-3 As-Builts per week, finalizing the final states of over 9+ ongoing projects in AutoCAD and BlueBeam.
Technical Drawing Review
Each week, I host meetings with quality engineers to review technical shop drawings of ductwork, mech pipe, and plumbing and submit them for revisions before the drawing is issued for construction.
These weekly reviews contained over 40+ annotations (on average) and helped to reduce rework within the company and ensure top of the line quality.
